Find above a picture of the rig used for transferring dailies, or rushes, to Beta tape on "The Shining".This picture was taken when Stanley's rig was used for the film "REDS". This rig allowed all the footage printed to be more easily accessed. Each moviola depicted was rigged with two cameras. One to capture the image from the moviola's film gate, and the other to shoot the footage counter which was framed with a small black cardboard cut-out. A third camera for each rig shot an image of a sort of timecode calculator which ran along with the moviola. The small light you see attached illuminated the footage counter. On the monitor you can see a shot from "REDS" which shows the timecode on the left and the footage counter in the center. The number on the right of the monitor indicates the dailies reel number.
